tummy time, bath time, and a little spring time!

Parx has been doing so good. I wish I could say we are starting to get into a schedule but we're not. Hopefully sooner than later but I'm not in a rush.
He is really starting to love his baths he gets his little hands under his chin and its just the cutest thing ever. Tummy time is a little different, he is fine as long as mom is reading or singing to him, or if dad is talking to him. But not if he just wants to be held.
As for the Spring we have been getting a small taste here and there. So we took advantage and did a little yard work the other day. Parx and I even help a little.
* the day I was posting this and taking pictures of tummy time he ROLLED OVER, I thought it was just a fluke until he did it again!!

Nursing

Nursing at 4 in the morning gives me a lot of time to think about things. Sometimes its a little deeper than other times, sometimes I just sit and think how jealous I am of Dave just sleeping next to me, I wonder what Parx will be like when he grows up and who he will become, sometimes I make a to do list for the up coming day that I forget by the time I wake up again, but the other night I took a trip down memory lane.
I couldn't help but remember my 14th bday. When me and two of my bestfriends Sophie and Mary karaoked to Dixie Chicks Good Bye Earl, they were are favorite, and we loved singing their songs. As we were singing my dad came out of no where pretending to be Earl. It was the funniest thing and I know my dad and how funny he is, but I think my friends were a little taken back at first and didn't know what to think, but by the end of it were rolling in laughter.
I'm not sure why that memory came to me, I don't have a great long term memory. But I'm glad it did it was fun to go through my old scrapbooks and look back.

Don't blink

When we went to Parx first Dr appt as Dr Overy was leaving he told me "don't blink" meaning time will go by so fast that before you know he will be grown up and moved on. I am already starting to believe it.
I Can Not believe it was a month ago that we were in the hospital having our beautiful son. We were so naive and had no idea the adventure we were about to start. This last month has been the best we are having fun learning how to be parents and I'm sure we wont ever really figure it out but but were trying. In one month we have had the highest highs and the lowest lows. Dave has seen me cry more in this one month than our whole marriage (I'm hoping this returns to normal soon). I
Parx has been a good baby for us he is happy most of the time,
he only gets fussy at night for a few hours
he can pull his binky out faster than we can put it in
he will spend about an hour in his swing, we are working on the bouncer
he does great with tummy time and is getting really strong
he loves to rock with his mom and read books
he loves the little "bed" dad makes for him in the recliner
he loves to sit and watch tv with his buddy
hes a great eater and thinks he is starving if he has to go longer than 2 1/2 hours
Even though he might not know he is smiling at us we love seeing that sweet smile
he is such a sweet spirit and a wonderful little boy
he eats. he sleeps. he poops and it AMAZING
We are so blessed to be his parents and cant wait to see what the following months and years bring to us.

Happy Anniversary

This year our anniversary was very low key. We stayed home and had dinner brought in. Dave came home a couple of hours early from work to hangout with Parx and I which was such a nice gift. We love when daddy comes home! This year we got the best anniversary gift, our little Parx. We sure love our little family.

“I don't pretend to know what love is for everyone, but I can tell you what it is for me; love is knowing all about someone, and still wanting to be with them more than any other person, love is trusting them enough to tell them everything about yourself, including the things you might be ashamed of, love is feeling comfortable and safe with someone, but still getting weak knees when they walk into a room and smile at you.”

Fatherhood

I have been amazed at how well Dave has taken to being a dad. He sure loves his little buddy and I know Parx feels the same, every time he hears his dads voice he brightens up. Dave is so good to help and knows when I need a break, he was even good enough to take the feedings one night this weekend and let me rest. To be honest I was a little nervous since Dave hadn't ever changed a diaper before we had Parx, and was the youngest, so he didn't have little kids around growing up to babysit or have a lot of experience with. That hasnt factor in at all. From the time we had him he has jumped right in with feeding, changing, bathing, playing, snuggling and occasionally telling him to "hush" (not my favorite). I am so grateful that he is my partner in parenting and everything else in life. I love you Dave!

How am I going to lose my left over baby weight when I cant stop eating these things!! For real. When Dave saw how many I bought he said it was time for an intervention and I agree. I blame it on the fact that the weather is still cold and RSV is still out there so we don't get out much. So for this S.H.A.M I really do sit home eating bon-bons (or in my case junior mints pastels) Spring and warm weather cant come soon enough!

2 Weeks, Friends, and Sports

Last Friday Parx had his 2 week Dr appt he weight in at 8lbs 1oz, a pound above his birth weight. He is 20 inches long which is 1/2 inche more. So he is for sure growing and getting the food he needs. It was confirmed that his hammer toes will stay that way but shouldn't give him any trouble (thanks a lot aunt kimi). And everything else looks and sounds great. He still continues to be a good baby, more so during the day were still working on the nights. He loves to have his hands up by his face and when he folds them its the cutest thing ever. He makes the cutest faces when he is sleeping and even though I know he doesn't mean to smile I love seeing it. He doesn't take a bottle or binki very good from mom (he knows what she really has). He lights up when his Dad talks to him and spends time with his little buddy.
We sure love our little guy and enjoy every day we get with him!!

We also got to go visit our friends Laci and Treavi (remember her, born the same day as Parx and possible his future girlfriend.) It was fun to get out and visit and see the babies together. I'm excited for the warmer weather so we can get out and hangout with them more.

Then on Monday Spencer Larsen the starting Full Back of the Denver Broncos came to Sub Zero so we took Parx to get an autograph and picture with his first pro sports player.

Newborn Pictures

After 4 times of trying to get some newborn pictures of Parx we finally did it. Not all of them turned out how I had hoped but Ill take what I can get since its just getting harder and harder every time we try.
This boy will be out like a light, I pull out my camera and he wakes right up. Someone needs to inform him his mom likes pictures and takes a lot of them so the sooner he gets with the program the better!
