Memorial Day weekend

Some of Dave's family came into town to help get things ready for his parents homecoming. It was fun to see everyone and spend sometime together. And things look great now. Were excited to see Alan and Susan.
The rest of the weekend we just hungout and relaxed. It was really nice to have Dave around for a few days since lately he has been gone a lot.

Little Man

I really can not believe how big Parx is already getting. Everyday he just gets cuter and more fun. It is so fun to watch as he learns new things, like controling his hands or following us. He still doesn't like his bouncer and I feel bad just having him lay on the floor while I clean or cook (yes I have been trying this more) so the other day I thought we would try the bumbo, even though I thought it was a little early. And he loved it! Sometimes he turns into a bobble head so we have to help him stop and get it under control but other wise he does really well and enjoys being part of what were doing.

The other day after our run I went to get Parx out and found him like this. Love this little guy!

Helping mom with yard work

Last week I got a call from my mom (not unusual these days) she calls to check in on the little man and say how much she misses him. But this one was different, she was calling to say she just couldn't take it anymore and was coming to visit. So the next day she showed up on our door step, I don't blame her I hate being away from him for a day when I work. He is just so stinking cute and fun.
It is so much more fun having my parents around now that I have Parx, not that I don't enjoy them but its just different. We had fun hanging out with everyone and enjoyed time with Grandma Julie and are looking forward to her next visit.

Before I was a Mom I made and ate hot meals.
I had unstained clothing.
I had quiet conversations on the phone.

Before I was a Mom I slept as late as I wanted.
And never worried about how late I got into bed.
I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was Mom I cleaned my house each day.
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to lullabies.

Before I was a Mom I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom I had never been puked on, pooped on, spit on, peed on, or pinched by tiny fingers.
Before I was a Mom I had complete control of my mind, my thoughts, my body and all my feelings.
I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put it down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a Mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was OK.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much......
......before I was a Mom.

Rain, Rain go away!

It has been a long time coming for spring this year. We have had a few days that just tease us but for the most part it has been pretty wet. We even have flood watches going on all over the state, this hasn't happened since the 80's.
Don't get me wrong we're grateful for the water and how green it has made everything but we only get a few short months of nice weather and Parx and I are ready to get out and enjoy them as much as we can!

Health Days

A year ago this weekend I was running a marathon, this year I was doing a 5k. Haha talk about one extreme to another.
It was Health Days and with that comes the annual conquer the canyon race, the parade, the fair, and baseball games. And we did it all. It's always fun to get out and enjoy the nice weather but I'm wondering if we will ever see anything new in the parade or the fair??

Mothers Day #1

I love my mother as the trees love water and sunshine - she helps me grow, prosper, and reach great heights. ~Terri Guillemets

This is true for my Mother, Mother-in-law and Grandmothers they have taught me so much and are such great examples of the Mother I hope to become someday.
In the last couple of months I have already learned a lot about being a mother and not saying what I will and won't do as a parent. Because as soon as I do contradict myself and do the opposite.
Dave gave me my first and probably best mothers day card ever. Along with a dress and very good dinner. Thanks Dave.

30

Day 30: Your favorite song.
Like I said before I like anything and everything in music. My favorite changes according to new music that comes out. But I always enjoy the Hymns. Every Sunday I find new favorite one of those.

29

Day 29: In this past month, what have you learned?
That blogging isn't as easy as it use to be.... along with everything else. Parx kinda takes my "extra" time I have.

28

Day 28: A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?

Last year at this time I was training for my first marathon running around 30 miles a week. Now its more like 10, hahaha. Hopefully someday I will be able to do that again.

27

Day 27: Why are you doing this 30 day challenge.
These are random but fun questions to ask. And because someday I will be gone and it will be a small part of me I can leave behind for my children and family.
Plus its something to do with all my spare time I have.... Bahahaha!

26

Day 26: What you think about your friends.
They are; fun, awesome, funny, good looking, nice, good people, and fun to be around. Duh! If they weren't they wouldnt be my friends!

25

Day 25: What would be found in your bag/purse.
diapers.
burp cloth.
nursing cover.
wipes.
extra clothes for Parx.
lotion, powder, cream etc.
walet.
gum.
8 different lip gloss.
check book.
coupons.
pens.

24

Day 24: A letter to your parents.
Dear Mom and Dad:
THANK YOU!! There is so much more I could say like how grateful I am that you are my parents, and that I am a part of your family. How lucky I am to have been raised by you and have you as examples. What fun it was growing up in our family, and still is. I'm glad I have you guys to ask for advice and am sorry I didn't take it more often. But you did a wonderful job teaching us and raising your children. But mainly Thank you for everything!!
I once hear if you want to make this world a better place teach your kids right, they are what you will leave behind.
Love, Alisha

23

Day 23: Something you crave for a lot.
The last little while its been those dang junior mints but now that those are gone for the season I'm hoping it will be healthy food again. haha UPDATE: dark chocolate, and I usually don't like dark, what gives! I'm so sick of junk but can't stop.

22

Day 22: What makes you different from everyone else.
I don't have a crazy cool talent, or do anything that no one else can do, or something that makes me look different from other human beings. I'm just a simple girl living a simple life. Its as simple as that.
