After one too many ear infections we decided it was time to do tubes and take out Parx adenoids. So we were up and out of the house early and at the hospital at 6:45 today. It took awhile to get things started. They took him at 7:45 to do the surgery. They told us it would be about 20-30 mins So after 45 I was starting to wonder... But Dave kept saying maybe it took the Dr a min to get in there or whatever. But after an hour the Dr came in and told us they still had him and they had found a swollen lymphoid or something in the back of his throat that was abnormal and made him a little nervous so they wanted to biopsy it or try to remove it. We told him to go ahead. After another 30 min he came back with a syringe of puss and blood and explained it was a abscess and asked if he had been sick. When we said no not really he was surprised and said something like that would cause others to be really sick and uncomfortable. And for a child it was a large amount. But of course our little peanut is strong. It was funny because Dave said Oh he must be like his mom and strong even when he is sick not like the Webb boys. Haha his words not mine!
Any way we were so grateful it was that and not something more serious. Shortly after that they had him back to us.
That's when I learned one of the hardest things you go through as a parent has to be watching your child hurt and not being able to do a thing about it. He was confused, mad, and just didn't know what he wanted. So Dave and I were no help and it was painful all around. But he is doing much better now that we have had him home, feed him and he has got a few good naps.
I am grateful of the power of the priesthood and the comfort that you can have from it and the spirit you get from a blessing and prayers. Also for modern medicine. Lets hope this was all worth it and we no longer have stinking ear infections.
